Already know your way around the water? Hire quality gear from us and make the most of the Mangawhai surf. We have boards and wetsuits for all levels, plus paddle boards and kayaks for exploring the estuary and coastline.

Rentals are flexible to suit your plans. Grab a board for a couple of hours, kit the family out for a beach day, or take gear for a week or two if you are staying in the area. Book ahead and your gear will be cleaned, ready and waiting when you arrive.

What you can hire

Soft top and hard surfboards in a range of sizes, wetsuits to keep you warm, bodyboards for the groms, and stand up paddle boards and kayaks for cruising the flat water. If you are not sure what suits you, just ask and we will point you in the right direction.

Hire periods

From two hours right through to two weeks. Short hires are perfect for a quick surf, while longer hires suit holidaymakers and anyone wanting gear on hand for the duration of their stay.

Our base is at 147 Wintle Street, a short walk from the beach with good parking, toilets, showers and changing facilities right there. Booking ahead is the best way to make sure we have your size and gear ready to go.
