Mangawhai Heads Surf School specializes in providing surf lessons for large groups – whether it is school kids or a corporate team, we’ve got everything you need.
Choose from:
- Full day activities (e.g. school fun day)
- Multi-day activities (e.g. corporate, team building weekend getaways)
- OR an ongoing program (E.g. weekly, ongoing lessons for schools)
We’re based at Mangawhai Heads Beach, however are able to operate along the entire East Coast including Orewa, Omaha, Pakiri, Te Arai, Ruakaka and more. This flexibility allows us to base ourselves somewhere convenient for you as well as capture the best conditions on the day. We’re one of the closest surfing schools to Auckland, so feel free to reach out no matter where you’re located on the island.
Schools:
- Half-day, full-day & ongoing programs available
- Surfing, paddle boarding, beach activities that can be tailored to your curriculum
- Other activities: coastal walks, yoga, beach volleyball, swimming, BBQ lunch.
- Programs aim to meet both school objectives and students’ needs.
- Focus on teaching students core surfing skills and beach safety and awareness
Please note: All of our instructors are fully ISA and First Aid certified / Surf Lifesaving trained.
Inclusions:
- The possibility of catering for over 120 students per day.
- Surfing / paddle boarding lessons with multiple instructors.
- Beach safety and surf lifesaving.
- Multiple rotations of surf lifesaving, beach games and other coastal activities.
- Everybody standing, riding waves and having fun… our guarantee!
- All equipment including surfboards, wetsuits and sunscreen.
- The best qualified and experienced surf instructors in the country.
We operate a strict ratio of coaches to students to ensure safety and plenty of instruction time for everyone.

Next time you are organizing an event for your work place, whether it is a corporate function, convention, business event or office party, a day of surfing with Mangawhai Heads Surf School is a great challenge and heaps of fun. Activities on the day can be tailored to the groups exact wants and needs, spending as much or as little time in the water as wanted.

With Mangawhai Heads Surf School, surfing in a safe group environment is suitable for people of ALL ages and skill levels and is available all year-round.
Inclusions:
- Beach and ocean safety.
